課程概述與目標(Course Overview and Goals)：This is an EMI course, i.e., English will be used as a medium of instruction throughout the semester. The purpose of this course is to help students get a general understanding of the development of Western literature, especially the origin of Western literature and civilization. In this semester, the course will commence with the perennially asked question: "What is literature?" before dealing with the main focus on Greek and Roman mythology as a significant source of Western literature. The reading materials selected are stories of Greek and Roman mythology for children since this course is categorized in the English teaching track in the department's curriculum. Students are required to sign up for an oral presentation based on the assigned stories and produce PPT slides for them.
