課程概述與目標: The course is designed for learners who wish to gain their knowledge about English teaching in elementary schools. This course attempts to provide the insights into children's development together with the language acquisition process which may give significant implications and inspiration to the English education of Taiwanese students from 6 to 12 years old. It also includes a wide-ranging resource of practical teaching ideas which can be adapted flexibly and creatively in elementary schools. Followed by elementary school classroom observations and teaching practices, there will be discussions on how to be a language teacher. The three main areas covered will be the principles and processes of children's English acquisition, lesson planning for young learners in Taiwan, and discussions of different classroom scenarios.
