課程概述與目標: This course explores each of the principal renewable energy sources in turn. Each technology is examined in terms of the relevant physical principles; the main technologies involved; their costs and environmental impact; the size of the potential renewable resource; and their future prospects. This course Illuminates the basic principles behind all key renewable power sources- solar, wind, biomass, hydropower & fuel cells and connects scientific theory with practical implementation through physical examples.

1 I. An introduction to renewable energy An overview of the current status of renewable energy in the context of the world's present primary energy situation. Guiding student to know the world’s situations of renewable energy. Also, this chapter will introduce the kinds and recent development of renewable energies.

    2 II. Solar thermal energy This chapter provides a detailed overview of the physics of solar heat and how this may be captured in a variety of different ways, as well as the complex topic of passive solar heating. Solar thermal energy is popular using the collecting sun energy for living application. How to capture sun energies in different ways will discuss in this chapter.

    3 III. Solar photovoltaic Energy The structured introduction of solar volatic cell to this critical technology starting with the physics of crystalline silicon through to issues of integration and future prospects. The technologies of solar voltaic cell are discussed in this chapter. Student will learn from a single cell design to integrated solar cell system for application in electric power plant.

Bioenergy The various bioenergy products and processes are illustrated with a range of practical examples examining the factors likely to affect uptake of bioenergy systems, i.e. fuel cells. Bioenergies are getting popular to be developed in renewable energy. Students will learn how to use the nature residues to generate the new energy.

    5 V. Hydroelectricity This chapter introduce a critical look a small- and large-scale hydro in terms of their respective benefits and penalties. Hydroenergy is always important in renewable energy. It is clear and endless resources in our environment. Students will learn the resources of hydropower and its application recently.
