先修科目或先備能力(Course Pre-requisites):Suitable for third-year and above undergraduate students (including graduate students) in the College of Engineering, this course is an introductory application course in the interdisciplinary field of biomedical sciences. 適合工學院大學部三年級以上(含研究所)學生,本課程屬跨域生物醫學領域 初階應用課程。
課程概述與目標(Course Overview and Goals):This course presents the basic fundamentals of materials science on a level appropriate for students. Each topic, including metals, ceramics, polymers, composite, and further advanced materials, ranges from fundamental theories and principles to in-depth medical applications. The objective is to discuss and understand how material engineering approaches can be designed, the discipline of materials science and engineering, and their interrelationship in medicine.

本課程介紹材料科學的基本原理,以金屬、陶瓷、聚合物、複合材料和先進材料等在內的主題,由基礎理論和原理切入,延伸至醫學領域應用進行探討。
課程主要目的是讓非生物醫學領域背景的學生,建立以工程跨域的角度來考量與設計應用於生物醫學領域的思維,並理解及衡量之間的相互關係。
