課程概述與目標(Course Overview and Goals): This course explores the theoretical scope of visual psychology and its relevance to design practice. The course covers:
(1) the physical principles of optics that allow the eye to receive visual stimuli,
(2) the physiological mechanisms of the brain and the visual system,
(3) psychological and cognitive theories related to visual perception, and
(4) environmental psychology perspectives on how human behavior interacts with surroundings.

Through theoretical discussion and case analysis, students will develop an understanding of how people see, interpret, and respond to visual information. In the later stage of the course, students will formulate a question related to visual psychology and conduct an observation-based investigation. The final outcome will be a visual psychology observation report that connects perceptual theory to design contexts.
